SG D-Day Plus 7: Colonial District at Night

SG D-Day Plus 7: Colonial District at Night

One Sunday afternoon with nothing else to do, I just wanted to go out and explore some sights. Good thing I brought with me my Lonely Planet guide to Singapore (since I still have no internet access during this time) and decided to do one of the walking tours in the book. This one is the Colonial District where the city lights are really a sight to behold like the Singapore Musem (will come back next time to go inside), Esplanade, Singapore River (stunning lights), Clark Quay, Boat Quay, Merlion Park, and the gigantic Marina Bay Sands (will explore more of this next time) to name a few. I started from Doby Gaut MRT station and walked all the way to Marina Bay. I got lost many times trying to find the landmarks, but it was a great experience, it felt good to go out and explore, and get to know the place I can't wait to see what this city has in store for me.. will try again to explore some other parts of the city next time.

Good thing I brought with me my Lonely Planet guidebook, since during this time I still had no laptop and access to the internet, this book served as my 'go to' whenever I wanted to see some tourist sights.

D-Day plus 28: Finally, Singapore!!!

Twenty eight days later, after resigning from my job that I had been working at for almost 5 years of my life, after dozens of phone interviews and job hunting related frustrations, I've finally got a job in one of the top telecoms company in Singapore. My prayers had been answered, and now another life adventure awaits.

Packing up the bare essentials, everything must fit in my 50L backpack!
Total packed weight is 16kilos.  Heavier than what I would normally bring
when climbing mountains.

Photo Essay: The Grandfather of Philippine Mountains

One of the most beautiful mountains I've ever climbed deserves an album of it's own. Sharing some of the views which can be encountered while climbing the highest mountain in the country.

My Mt. Apo Dream Climb

It was a long strenuous climb, from the lowlands, the mossy forests, the formidable boulders, the irritating sulfuric fumes, the 87 degree inclined assault, the beautiful crater, and finally the summit area, every step was a memorable experience. As one of my fellow climbers would say... "Mt. Apo is big, but we have a bigger God".

Adventures of 2010: A Personal Journey To The World Of Mountain Climbing

Mt. Pulag Dream Climb (January 30-31)
View1: Mt. Pulag's Sunset above the clouds.
Highest mountain in Luzon.

For as long as I can remember, I was living a slow and passive life. But when my dad passed away late 2009 because of cancer, I knew somehow that my life would never be the same.
