| I didn't manage to bring a GPS during the hike, but just to have a rough idea of what we trekked, I tried to plot it in Google earth. From Tilat Sumdo (our first camp) to Nerak (our last camp), according to google, the distance is 34.5km each way (69km Total). This is taking into account that it followed the Zanskar Valley Road. This road runs almost alongside of the Zanskar River itself. However, during the winter months, this road is deemed not passable. Hence the only passable route is the frozen Zanskar river itself. |
